Melody Miles welcomes additional Race Sponsors: Next year's race will be May 23, 2009.The race raises money for young musicians in the Hamilton-Wenham public schools. Student singers and instrumentalists serenade and encourage runners with music from choral pieces to bands along the 5-mile route that winds through both towns. This feature attracts many participants who walk a shorter course, enjoying the spring landscape along with the music. Money raised from the race will be distributed by Pro Musica, a non-profit community group. The funds will be used for elementary instrument lesson scholarships and to support other music programs in the Hamilton-Wenham public school district. More than 250 runners and walkers participated in 2008 and we expect a similar field- or more - for this year's Melody Miles on Saturday, May 23, 2009. More gather each year to cheer the runners on. This event provides sponsors with great exposure and their names stay in the public eye as runners wear race tee-shirts all over the North Shore and beyond. Sponsors are also welcome to display company information, materials, or products on race day near the start and finish lines at Hamilton's Patton Park. Businesses power Melody Miles.
